91¶ÌÊÓÆµ Bound Basics

91¶ÌÊÓÆµ Bound is a course material delivery model that simplifies the student experience, lowers the cost of materials, and ensures students have access to all required course materials on or before the first day of class. Through this innovative program, physical books are conveniently packaged and provided to students on a rental basis, and access to digital material is directly within Moodle. At the end of the term, students will receive email reminders to return rented physical course materials to the bookstore.

  • Register for your classes and the bookstore will start preparing your course materials
  • One month before classes start, you will receive an email instructing you to select your delivery preference (in-store pickup or shipped directly to you)
  • An email notification will be sent when your order is ready for pickup or when it ships
  • Your digital materials will be delivered for your course(s) within Moodle

All 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ undergraduate students are able to participate in this program. There is an opportunity to opt out of the program.

The program provides all required textbooks, eTextbooks, lab manuals, and access codes to eligible students.

The program does not include consumable course supplies that cannot be returned and reused such as lab goggles, dissection kits, molecular model kits and engineering kits.

All eligible students will be automatically enrolled in the 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ Bound program.

Students have the option to opt-out of the 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ Bound program each semester during the opt-out window. The opt-out window is open July 28 – September 21, 2025. By opting out, students will not receive their required materials in a convenient package and access to digital content will be removed after the opt-out window closes. Options for purchasing course materials after opting out can be found on the . To begin the opt-out process, please follow .

To change your opt-out status and opt into the 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ Bound program, please click or follow the instructions found in the opt-out confirmation email you received after opting-out. Please note you can start your opt-out on July 28, 2025, and you must make your final selection by September 21, 2025.

Costs and Cost-Related

91¶ÌÊÓÆµ Bound currently costs $25 per credit hour for the total courses registered per term. As an example, course materials for students taking 15 credits per term would cost $375 per term. Students will see their personalized anticipated savings in their 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ Bound welcome email based on their course selection.

The cost for 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ Bound will be added to your term bill. If you choose to opt out after your payment is due, a credit will be issued to your student account.

Financial aid is applied toward all charges on your term bill, including fees for 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ Bound.

Yes, if a student does not opt out, their materials will be held at the University Bookstore and their student account will be charged.

It depends! If you withdraw from a class during the Add/Drop period, you will receive a credit for the materials associated with that course. If you withdraw after the Add/Drop period, you are responsible for the charges associated with those course materials.

If you add a course at any point during the term, you will be charged per credit hour for the course. Within 24 hours of adding the course, you will see your new 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ Bound course materials list to verify. You will receive an email instructing you to confirm your schedule change and select your delivery preference (in-store pick up or shipped directly to you).
 

No, 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ Bound is applicable to your entire schedule in any given term.
 

Yes, 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ Bound provides you with the option to purchase your textbooks at a reduced rate during the return period.
 

Books and Materials

You may receive some physical textbooks while other materials, such as eBooks or access codes to homework websites, will be available online through Moodle. For physical materials, you select your delivery preference (e.g. shipping or store pickup) when verifying your course materials. For online materials, log in to Moodle, choose the desired course, and select Course Materials.

Normal use of highlighting and writing is permitted in your rental materials. Missing pages, water damage, a broken spine, or excessive writing or highlighting in the book are considered not acceptable.

The deadline to return all rental textbooks is the last day of finals for the term. Students will receive email reminders ahead of the rental deadline.
